The Print Process
The HP Digital Press
One of 150 worldwide, and the only wide-format, heavy media digital printer in Western Canada, the HP Digital Press at Ideon Packaging produces digital printing for everything from bright POP displays to bold pallet wraps to your latest project.
Ideon graphics utilizes an exclusively Adobe workflow. Graphic files should be saved as press quality pdf(s) with Illustrator or Photoshop editing capabilities included.
CMYK Colour Mode
Illustrator files should created in CMYK colour mode. Raster PSD files can be linked as either CMYK or RGB. However all files sent to print will be converted to CMYK before rip.
Pantones & Spots
To achieve the highest quality print, spot colour swatches or Pantones should be assigned to vector artwork. Standard spots include: Rich Black (floods), Black Hit (type), & White Hit (no ink, knockout).
Fonts & Outlines
We strongly recommend that fonts be outlined prior to file submission. Certain fonts contain embedded formatting that can be lost or conflict with the print process. If fonts are not outlined, they must be included with file submission.
Images & Links
Raster images contained within Illustrator artwork should be linked as psd files at 150-300 ppi. Embedded files cannot be colour corrected and become unusable during the multi-load process. Linked raster files must be included with file submission.
Ideon Packaging strives to maintain 100% accurate print-to-cut registration. However, to ensure perfect coverage, we require a 0.25″ minimum bleed past the dieline on all artwork files for press.
